We are a grant-funded parent and baby exercise community interest company, offering free exercise classes for pregnant women, new mums, and dads. Our classes provide a space for parents to work out while their babies relax and play—no need to worry about childcare. Just come along, get active, and connect with like-minded people.
Our mission is to ensure no parent navigates the journey of parenthood alone. We’re building a supportive community, using exercise as a way to bridge the gap, foster meaningful conversations, and have fun while getting a great workout!

Emma's Story
As the founder of StartStrong Fitness CIC and a Pre- and Post-Natal Specialist Coach, my main goal is to empower parents both mentally and physically through our parent and baby exercise classes. I’m proud to specialize in mental health and pre- and post-natal fitness, drawing from my own personal journey with mental health struggles.
I overcame Anorexia Nervosa, a disorder that controlled my life for 10 years. My condition was so severe that I was hospitalized twice, and doctors told me I’d never develop a healthy relationship with exercise or food again. In a dark place, many doubted my ability to recover. But today, I’ve been fully recovered for eight years, proving the naysayers wrong. The doctors’ words stuck with me, motivating me to share my story and help others through StartStrong Fitness CIC.
Many parents, especially those struggling with mental health challenges, feel overwhelmed and uncertain about the possibility of recovery. That’s where I come in. Through our specialized classes, I can show you that recovery is possible and that a healthy relationship with food, exercise, and your body is attainable. As your coach, my mission is to help you become not only physically strong but mentally strong as well. Together, we’ll work to ensure you have the tools and resources to achieve optimal well-being, build confidence, and embrace parenthood with a positive mindset.
